I think we can all agree the past few years have brought about a new level of stress and anxiety for many of us. You’re not alone in feeling this way. Anxieties that were already there have turned into fear of the future, worries, trouble sleeping, anger, or even depression. That’s where I come in.
Daisies are nature’s picture of hope and a fresh start. Knowing where to begin is the hardest part. Lao Tzu said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Daily Counseling Center can be your first step.
Being a teen is not an easy task these days. Depression and anxiety are unfortunately a common story. Daisy Counseling Center can help your teen learn how to navigate his or her difficult and confusing experiences whether it be family divorce, depression, anxiety, self-injury, bullying, poor self-esteem, social anxiety, issues related to sexuality or gender.

Learn More About Me
About Cathy
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering Individual, Couples and Family Therapy to Children, Adolescents and Adults.
Education
I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Indiana University in 2007. I also graduated with my Masters of Social Work in 2011 from Indiana University and obtained by License as a Clinical Social Worker in 2014.
Experience
While working on my undergraduate degree, I had the opportunity to complete two internships. The first was with Exodus Refugee Services where I assisted refugees from around the world to resettle in their new homes. I also interned with Jackson County Educational Center where I worked with at-risk middle and high school students in Jackson County, Indiana.
During my graduate work at Indiana University, I interned with Brushy Creek Elementary School as a school social worker. My position there involved counseling with students, assisting with social skills training and referring parents to supportive services.
In addition, I interned as a therapist at Family Service working with uninsured clients and teaching parenting classes.
After graduating with my MSW, I was offered a position with Family Service and continued my practice there until 2018, when I became a therapist with Choices in Counseling.
My experience includes working with children and families who are involved in the Department of Child Services system and with adolescents and adults in the criminal justice system. In addition, I have worked with all age groups from toddlers to seniors as well as counseling with families and couples.
I specialize in assisting clients with mood disorders or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and teaching relaxation and coping skills. Clients have told me that I am easy to talk to and seem warm and genuine.
My personal experience which I believe has made me a more compassionate and effective therapist include raising two children, being married for 29+ years, and experiencing a cancer diagnosis. I can empathize with the ups and downs of having a family as well as the fear associated with a life-threatening illness.
Why Do I care?
That’s a great question! My vocation as a therapist is my job. I get up and go to work each day to be able to pay my bills each month. But…it’s also my passion, my calling and my reason to be. I can tell you I genuinely want to help you overcome barriers to peace and joy in your life.
Still interested? Go to the contact page and either call or text and I’ll respond as soon as possible. I look forward to meeting you soon.
